Mauritius returns gold bars to Madagascar
25,5 kilos of gold in ingots, Seized in 2019 on Malagasy in transit in Mauritius to go to India and Dubai, were returned to the Malagasy authorities by the Mauritian government on April 24, On the occasion of the Co summit in Antananarivo. Increase in tourist arrivals in April

Among the main source markets, the number of travelers from the United Kingdom increased by 31% in April, the number of Reunion Islanders by 26% over the month.
Customs agreement with the Emirates
Since April 1st, customs duties have been removed on 6,700 Mauritian products upon entry into the United Arab Emirates. In the other direction, 25 Emirati products can enter the Mauritian market without customs duty. These exemptions will gradually be extended to new products. The agreement between the two countries also concerns investments, digital commerce and services.
New photovoltaic plant for Corexsolar
Last April 1st, a photovoltaic plant with a power of 10 megawatts, built by Corexsolar International in Plaine des Roches, in the north of Mauritius, was connected to the network. Its 20,000 panels, covering a total area of 12 hectares, will meet the electricity needs of 23,000 residents. Created in 2012 in Reunion, led by Franck Rivas-Sleeve, Corexsolar International expanded in Mauritius from 2016, where she was associated for some time with the Harel-Mallac conglomerate. Its Plaine des Roches power plant is now the most powerful in its Mauritian fleet, which has three other solar farms, including one in Rodrigues, and more than 4,000 photovoltaic installations on roofs.
