At the International Agriculture Show, the innovation prize of the 2022-2023 Agroecology Trophies was awarded to a Reunionese farmer, Béatrice Duchemann-Donnay, operator in Sainte-Rose.

Marc Fesneau, ministre de l’Agriculture et de la Souveraineté alimentaire, a remis lui-même ce prix de l’innovation à l’exploitante réunionnaise. Béatrice Duchemann-Donnay avait reçu le prix régional le 12 janvier dernier des mains du préfet de La Réunion, Jerome Filippini, qui s’était rendu sur son exploitation pour l’occasion. Jérôme Filippini a de nouveau tenu à féliciter la lauréate et son compagnon « pour leur passion et leur engagement sans faille dans des pratiques agricoles respectueuses de l’environnement, qui protègent un terroir d’exception ». Agricultrice depuis 2015, Béatrice Duchemann-Donnay produit de la vanille sous couvert forestier des letchis et des palmistes certifiés bio sur une concession de 4,75 hectares attribuée par le Conservatoire du littoral. Ce choix de production en harmonie avec ses valeurs familiales a amené le couple à candidater aux Trophées de l’agroécologie.
