National network specializing in automobile intermediation, TransakAuto, confirms its development in Reunion thanks to the dynamics of its local agencies. This growth reflects the attractiveness of the model and responds to a growing demand for transparency and security of automobile transactions in the Indian Ocean..
To succeed, TransakAuto, born in 2011, has been able to adapt to changes in the automotive market linked to the rise of digital platforms, increasing demand for more environmentally friendly vehicles, the requirement for transparency and security of transactions. The network has thus used several growth levers to establish itself as the leader in the second-hand market. : rapid expansion via a franchise model specializing in automobile transactions between individuals, a strong online presence and strategic partnerships with financial institutions and insurers. The brand also relied on a complete service offering, ranging from transaction to vehicle warranty. In a city, the brand is positioned as the French leader in automobile brokerage, with more than 176 agencies in France and the Benelux, and has experienced sustained growth since its creation. Brought to Reunion since January 2025 by two entrepreneurs who opened their point of sale simultaneously at the start of the year, Selvane Minatchy (agencies of L’Étang-Salé and now of Saint-André) not Brian Talassi (Saint-Denis agency), TransakAuto Réunion follows the national trend, with growth higher than initial forecasts.
A positive first year
The L’Étang-Salé agency has twice exceeded its ambition. With more than 200 vehicles sold, turnover exceeds €400,000. The agency has a structured team of six employees. Symbol of this ascension, a new agency sets up in Saint-André. “The idea, is to become a key player in used vehicles on the island, and there was a lack of an agency in the East to meet the demand”, says Selvane. Located in Saint-Denis, the second TransakAuto agency on the island also presents more than promising results : €130,000 turnover for 70 vehicles sold in nine months of opening.
A concept for the local market
In the meeting, dock dues make the cost of new vehicles particularly high. “It takes around 30% more than in mainland France, an additional cost that is all the more significant given that the purchasing power of Reunion residents remains lower than that of mainland residents”, specify Selvane and Brian. TransakAuto responds to this problem by positioning itself on the second-hand market, where demand is high, but limited supply. The network can also offer older vehicles, but carefully controlled, enabling customers to access reliable and accessible solutions.

TransakAuto acts as an intermediary between the seller and the buyer. Unlike traditional dealers, the agent does not own the vehicle, which allows it to offer more competitive prices. It is from this observation that the brand in mainland France has been inspired for 15 years., by relying on its network of specialized franchises. The transaction is secured via an escrow account. The transparency of the economic model with the total absence of commission for the buyer, is explicitly indicated in the general conditions of sale. The evaluation of the vehicle is carried out using CarVertical in particular, which offers a certain freedom of mind for the buyer by avoiding scams and malicious sellers.
