The call for candidates is launched. Supported locally by the Initiative Réunion association, The Boutique à l’Essai is aimed at people with a business project, who can test their concept in a pilot store. Supported by CINOR, this innovative proposal is carried out in partnership with the National Federation of Trial Shops and CBo Territoria.
The call for applications for Ma Boutique à l’Essai was launched on October 13. It is open until December 15. It concerns a premises of 63 m2 located Avenue du Beau Pays, the central artery of Beauséjour. It takes place at the foot of a mixed residential and commercial building.. The operation is aimed at project leaders of a local business or service (excluding catering). Within a pilot store, the successful candidate will be able to test their idea and market for a period of six months, renewable once, i.e. 12 months in total. Advantage : the future retailer signs a lease reduced to six months with CbO Territoria, instead of ordinary three-year leases. The six-month lease is renewable once, i.e. a trial period of 12 months. The premises made available by CBo Territoria are new, fitted out and ready for use, with the possibility of keeping it if the test is positive. The goal is to bring something more to the neighborhood, the selection committee will take into account, in his choice, of the commercial offer already present in the catchment area.
Mandatory support
The successful project leader will be supported in putting together their file and creating their business by a committee of experts bringing together Initiative Réunion, the CCI of Reunion, the Maison de l’Emploi Nord and Pôle Emploi. He benefits from a zero-interest loan to help him finance his first equipment. Please note that the other project leaders will not be abandoned however.. If they wish, they can be supported through traditional business creation monitoring. If this first trial store trial is conclusive, others could see the light of day in Reunion.
130 stores on trial in mainland France
More than 80% of the stores tested continued. The concept was born in 2013 in Noyon in Oise. At the time, it was about revitalizing the city center emptied of its businesses. Faced with the success of the formula, this has already been deployed in 100 cities, and will soon be in 30 additional. The National Federation of Trial Shops helps with the promotion and implementation of the system. Local partnerships provide the assistance needed to launch the activity. On average, the launch of the business requires an investment of around 30,000 euros.
Initiative
Zero-interest loans and support are Initiative Réunion’s two levers of action. The association is a member of Initiative France, first associative network for financing and supporting creators, business buyers and developers. Created in 1985, the network is strongly anchored locally with 214 associations spread throughout France, in mainland France and overseas. Three thousand small businesses have been supported by Initiative Réunion since its creation.
