The consumer price index fell 0,7% in Reunion in September, like in August. On the month, prices of services have decreased by 0,6 % ; half of the drop was driven by that of the prices of transport services (-8,8 %).
Energy prices remained stable and those of manufactured products fell by 0,9 %. Food prices fell for the fifth consecutive month (-0,8 %), after the surge due to cyclone Garance. Prices of fresh produce (fruits, fresh vegetables and fish) continued to decline (-4,9 %) and food prices excluding fresh products fell slightly (-0,2 %) after stability in August. Finally, tobacco prices have started to rise again (+0,2 %). Over a year, consumer prices increased by 1,2% in Reunion, as at national level. Reunionese inflation returns to a level identical to that of the national, after having been superior to him since the beginning of the year.
