In a difficult economic context, the culture check is a system that allows companies to give purchasing power to their employees. Explanations by the Absolute human resources working group, network of independent accounting firms, audit and consulting.
This device has been around for a long time, but is used too little by companies. In this period of inflation, managers have every interest in implementing it with a double advantage : please their employees, and support the cultural sector. What is the culture check ? The culture check is intended for the purchase of cultural goods, like show places, the concert, cinema ; museum tickets, exhibition, leisure park ; books, and musical or video media (CD, you invented, DVD,…). Attention : the culture voucher cannot be exchanged for equipment, such as music or DVD players, nor against covering the cost of internet subscription, TV, computers…
Which employees is it intended for? ?
When implemented in the company, all employees must benefit from culture vouchers, sans exception, including interns. There is no difference between company employees, whether they are on a fixed-term contract, CDI, full-time or part-time and regardless of their remuneration. Self-employed workers and similar salaried presidents cannot, as far as they are concerned, benefit from it.
What are the steps to set it up? ?
The heads of the social and economic committee (CSE) or business managers with fewer than 50 employees can contact a brand issuing culture vouchers. Many brands accept culture vouchers. These can be used in paper format or online. Unlike gift vouchers which obey rules imposed by Urssaf, culture vouchers can be distributed at any time of the year, for a minimum amount of 15 euros, and without maximum amount limit. These checks are also completely exempt from social security contributions when all conditions are met.. Be careful though, companies have the obligation to deliver the same amount to all employees, sans exception, including interns.
