The Secular Association for Education, Training, prevention and autonomy opened in December in Trinité (St Denis) the first “autonomy” residence in Reunion.

It consists of 52 fully equipped private accommodations with collective living spaces promoting mutual aid., animation and prevention of loss of autonomy. “Autonomy” residences are aimed at independent elderly people or people with a slight loss of autonomy., who are looking for a reassuring but non-medicalized living environment. That of the Trinity, built by Semader, offers apartments of type T1 bis or T2, with a functional kitchen, a comfortable living space and an architectural environment designed to facilitate everyday activities. This first residence was created as part of an agreement between the CDC Habitat group and Alefpa aimed at accelerating the creation of “autonomy” residences and accommodation adapted to poorly or poorly supported groups., from seniors to people with disabilities. This partnership will make it possible to respond to calls for public projects and to develop, within the social park itself, innovative inclusion and support systems.
