As the ISAUTIER group is approaching the 180th anniversary, in October, The museum inaugurated a new museum course, redesigned to better highlight the history of Reunionese rum and the entrepreneurial heritage of the Isautier house. Cette refonte de l’expérience de visite a été imaginée pour renouveler et moderniser le musée ouvert en 2008 et en réponse aux attentes d’un public toujours plus nombreux. La Saga du Rhum réunit principalement les trois distilleries, Isautier (actionnaire principal à 77 %), Rivière du Mât et Savannah. Depuis son ouverture, The museum welcomed more than 620,000 visitors, with record attendance in 2024 of 71,000 visitors, which confirms its role as locomotive of cultural tourism in the south of the island. Its rise in power has taken time, more, profitable since 2019, The rum saga is today among the most visited attractions in Reunion. In this momentum, The new course intends to strengthen the local anchoring of the site while continuing its influence with the tourist audience passing and local. Installed in the heart of the distillery, The museum offers an extended space of more than 500 m2 and a new scenography highlighting the museum's collections and giving the floor to the Reunional population. The new museum device is entirely bilingual (French-English). With this repositioning, The rum saga aims to cross the symbolic bar of 100,000 visitors per year within five years and thus consolidate its place of a must -have cultural site in the territory.
A renewal under the sign of femininity
