According to the Reunion Tourism Committee (CRT), tourist numbers on the island increased by 3% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
272,284 foreign tourists were welcomed from January to June, and tourism revenue reached 229,1 million euros, up +3,5 %. “These data constitute new records, they also reflect a reality, comments the CRT : the hexagonal market, our base, alone represents more than 220,000 tourists in six months, or nearly 82% of our attendance. The diversification of our tourist source markets and the development of European clienteles must therefore remain a priority.. » More than 55,000 tourists also declared that they were from Reunion Island, or one in five tourists. The proportions between affinity tourists, coming to the island as a priority to visit relatives or friends, and leisure tourists change little compared to 2024 : 46,3% for the first, 44,8% for the second. Business travelers accounted for 6,6% of arrivals in the first half of 2025, and the others (coming for training, a sporting or cultural event…) 2,2 %.
