September 8, the supervisory board of the Airport Company, manager of Roland-Garros airport, took note of the resignation of Thomas Dubus from his functions as chairman of the management board.
This last, in office for a year, had been anonymously suspected of having favored his partner in the award of an important airport security contract. In order to guarantee the continuity of governance, the supervisory board, chaired by Christian Marty – representative of the State who also headed the Directorate of Civil Aviation in Reunion – asked Fabrice Grondin, already a member of the board, to act as interim management of the company. As such, he will be responsible for the continued operation of the airport, the continuation of its projects and the maintenance of dialogue with employees, airlines, institutional partners and all local stakeholders. Fabrice Grondin was until then director of airport operations, within which he has spent almost his entire career for more than 30 years. otherwise, the Réunionnais has chaired the International Airports Council for Africa since January (ACI Africa). The usual recruitment process for the presidency of the board of directors, applicable in companies in which the State is the majority shareholder (60 %, in this case, alongside the CCI Réunion, of the Region and the commune of Sainte-Marie), will be engaged as soon as possible, indicates the supervisory board.
The company will continue its services to Miami in parallel, Montréal, San Francisco, and Papeete.
