The number of job seekers required to look for work and without activity (category A) stood on average at 117,250 in the 2nd quarter of 2023 in Reunion, number down from 0,9% over the quarter (1,070 fewer registered with Pôle Emploi) and 2,9% over one year. Among those under 25, the number of job seekers registered in category A increased by 0,6% in three months (+5,9% over one year) ; he moved back 1,3% among 25-49 year olds (-4,4% over one year) and 0,9% among those aged 50 and over (-3,8% over one year). Including those registered in categories B and C (those who carried out an activity over the period), the number of unemployed reached 153,790 in the 2nd quarter (-1% in three months, i.e. 1,570 fewer registered, -1,5% over one year). By age group, the number of under-25s registered in these three categories increases by 0,1% over the quarter and 5,4% over one year. On the other hand, it declines among those registered over 25 years old.. The drop in unemployment observed in Reunion in the 2nd quarter is a little more marked than in mainland France (-0,2 %) in category A as in all categories (-0,5 %). Over a year, on the other hand, the number of registrants fell further in mainland France (-5% in category A, -1,9% all categories combined).
