After several weeks of negotiations between representatives of large-scale distribution, local importers and producers, freight operators, freight forwarders, and a delegation of members and citizens of the Price Observatory, Margins and Revenues, the agreement on the quality-price shield was signed on February 25.
It evolves in several ways. The number of products subject to a price moderation commitment is increased by more than 40%, integrating very large consumer products as well as protective items against the virus (masks, hydroalcoholic solution…).
The list contains 153 products compared to 109 previously, including 66 local products (11 more products). BQP products are divided into three subcategories, with a maximum price for each basket :
food and basic necessities (218 €), hygiene products, home maintenance and equipment (97 €) and infant products (34 €). The 20121 list has also been the subject of a new effort to move upmarket with, notably, the substitution of the economic range by the distributor brand, which potentially allows access to a better quality offer.
A “péi” basket is also set up. It consists of a minimum of five fresh fruits and vegetables, variable depending on the season. Offered to consumers on a weekly basis, it will include a minimum of 60% local products. Leader Price, Leclerc and Bourbon Fraîcheur are partners in this system.
Finally, the ten merchants belonging to the Bout’iks cooperative have joined the system and will offer this year 46 products registered with the BQP in their local points of sale.
