On October 10, the State and representatives of the agricultural world signed a regional food sovereignty plan aimed at increasing the share of local production in the diet of Reunion Islanders..
Quantified objectives are set : increase from 67% to 76% coverage rate for fruits, from 68% to 77% for vegetables by 2030. For the animal sectors, an average progression of five points is targeted. 36 actions are listed in the plan, relating in particular to the preservation of land and the reconquest of wastelands. This plan currently looks like a catalog of good intentions, without new financial resources committed to achieving the objectives.
