Ademe Indian Ocean, state operator on ecological transition, organized the first Reunion village dedicated to reuse on the afternoon of September 24 at the Cité des arts in Saint-Denis, repair and reuse.
More than 30 exhibitors and associations offered workshops, animations, exhibitions and speaking engagements to raise awareness among the general public and professionals of circular economy actions. This unprecedented event was part of the anti-waste law for a circular economy and aimed to show that repairing, reuse and reuse are concrete solutions, accessible and creating local value. Ré-Invente is part of an ambitious eco-socio-responsible approach. From its conception, an environmental self-diagnosis for event managers (accede) was carried out with the aim of obtaining the LEAD label (Sustainable ambition event label), which would be a first in Reunion. This label is based on three major commitments : zero waste ambition, reducing the carbon footprint and creating a positive social impact. To hold them, several measures were applied : rigorous sorting of waste, collection and recovery of bio-waste, local and seasonal catering, the exclusion of plastic, the establishment of an eco-responsible charter for exhibitors and partners, as well as the promotion of soft mobility (bicycle parking, carpooling, public transport).
