Last year, the brand has initiated a strategic shift by aligning its brand platform with the Henkel group's sustainable commitments. Henkel has defined a net zero emissions roadmap. Within the group, the Adhesive Consumer unit & Craftsmen plays a leading role in the implementation of this strategy with actions targeted at both design and packaging reduction.. Elimination of plastic cases in favor of 0% plastic packaging. Elimination of caps on cartridges to reduce plastic volume. Introduction of Pattex cartridges containing up to 75% recycled materials. Deletion of packs deemed non-essential in a logic of reduction at source. Use of 100% recycled and recyclable plastic boxes. All Henkel packaging will now be recyclable or reusable, with the ambition to reduce by 50% the quantity of virgin plastics of fossil origin in consumer products. The objective is also to recruit a new generation of handymen, younger, more concerned about the environmental impact and looking for simple and effective solutions.
Mass balance et Flextec : two levers for the climate
The mass balance method makes it possible to introduce raw materials of renewable origin (from biomass) in the production chain, while guaranteeing the same level of quality and performance. Patented Flextec technology is developed by Henkel. It is a polymer-based formula without solvents and isocyanates, designed to offer equivalent performance, or even higher, with traditional polyurethane formulations. Flextec makes it possible to offer powerful adhesive sealants, resistant and multi-use, while reducing risks to health and the environment.
Three innovations from Pattex
First innovation of the year, Fix & Défix is designed for those who wish to carry out projects without damaging their walls. Fix & Défix allows you to securely fix (up to 6 kg) objects on a wide variety of surfaces : floor tile, glass, PVC, steel, wood, concrete. Its particularity : it can be easily removed without damaging the support, provided that the latter is neither porous nor painted. Ni Clou Ni Vis 3 in 1 is a revolutionary polymer glue that combines three functions : coller, join and fill. It is compatible with a wide range of materials, from mirror to ceramic, metal, the plaster, concrete, wood, tiles and most plastics. Latest addition to the range, Ni Clou Ni Vis Extra Fort Bio Balance illustrates Pattex's ambition to reconcile technical performance and reduced environmental impact... Its acrylic formula, intended for interior projects, is made up of 40% products that have been replaced by renewable raw materials. It offers very powerful immediate adhesion, capable of supporting up to 250 kg/cm2, ensuring solid fixation upon application.
