Alévini, new regional mobility aid fund
The Indian Ocean Commission announced in mid-September the establishment of a mobility fund intended for actors in the region's cultural sectors.. Named “AléVini” (“come and go”, in Mauritian Creole), it is open to Comorian people and organizations, Malagasy, Mauritians, Seychellois or Mozambican (working in an artistic discipline. In this context, they will benefit from a subsidy for travel costs., logistics and obtaining visas, among others. The COI has launched a first call for applications until November 15 for the allocation of funding to mobility projects planned between January and June 2024. The approach is part of the IOC cultural and creative industries development project, financed by the French Development Agency.
University cooperation between the Maldives and Réunion
The University of Reunion and the National University of the Maldives signed on August 28, visioconference, an unprecedented cooperation agreement. This is the first partnership concluded between a French higher education establishment and a Maldivian university.. It aims to promote exchanges and mobility for students, teacher-researchers and technical staff. Over the next two academic years, different projects will be carried out, mainly in three areas of training and research : tourism, disaster management and climate change.
