The summary data provided by INSEE on economic activity in the 3rd quarter of 2025 shows a stable number of paid hours compared to the 3rd quarter of 2024, in a context of falling inflation.
3,440 business creations were recorded over the period (65% under the microenterprise regime), a figure down 2% compared to the previous quarter, while it increased by 4% for the whole of France. The number of businesses created outside of microentrepreneur status is, however, increasing slightly, to settle at 1,201. Over a year, between October 2024 and September 2025, 1,050 companies were declared insolvent, i.e. 30 fewer failures than during the same period a year earlier. Finally, the unemployment rate, within the meaning of the International Labor Office, stood at 16% in Reunion in the 3rd quarter, against 7,7% for the whole of France.
