The construction site of a second viaduct at sea, almost 2 long,5 kilometers between Grande Chaloupe and La Possession, entered its first operational phase on April 22.
The geotechnical reconnaissance campaign began that day with the installation at sea of a platform responsible for carrying out surveys to measure the resistance of the marine soils at the location of the future supports of the viaduct.. The platform will make a total of 24 trips along the route of the future road. This recognition campaign should last almost a year. During this time, the project continues its regulatory journey, and other reconnaissance and preparatory work will begin. Several years of construction will still be necessary to complete the new Littoral road, whose work began in 2014. “In 2028 we will have a very beautiful road completed”, advance Huguette Bello, president of the Réunion region.
