A dynamic of local frozen food is at work in Reunion. It's only just beginning, and the need to increase the island’s food sovereignty, government-supported goal, offers it prospects with the increase in agricultural production that should result from it. The supply of locally sourced frozen products is relatively limited today. Meats are of course the first to be affected by the market that frozen food can offer in the coming years.. A range of frozen fruits and vegetables is also in preparation. We have already had the opportunity to discuss these initiatives. Guest Leader Meeting, the general director of Armement des Mascareignes, Thibaud Langlois d’Estaintot, confirms this desire to develop local frozen food and explains the assets and means by which his company, number one in Reunion in frozen food, available to achieve this.

We also talked about local production during the second commercial strategies congress in Reunion., StratCo Run, of which Leader Réunion is a partner. Questions were raised, among others, on the loyalty of Reunion consumers to local products, on the place of these products on the shelves, on the challenge posed by new consumer behaviors. With a sharp increase in audience from its second edition, this day rich in presentations and debates confirmed its relevance. StratCo Run recalled, notably, that by fueling employment and the wealth of the territory, local production forms a whole. This is why we are attentive, at Leader Meeting, innovations that are making Reunion Island evolve in all sectors. Many projects are underway which we can say today that they make the territory a sort of research and development laboratory.. The way we see the island is changing thanks to these projects. In this November issue we begin the presentation of several of them nearing completion.. A number whose rich summary, I hope so, will fuel your thoughts.
