Rubson's new Énergie expanding foam constitutes a notable innovation in the construction sector. Its new formula contains at least 16% recycled raw materials, and its new packaging has been redesigned for the recyclability of waste.
Expanding foams are intended to insulate, wedge and refill. The Henkel group has joined forces with the German company PDR (Product Dursh Recycling) in order to recycle the content of 3,5 million aerosols out of the 6 million used aerosols collected annually at collection points in Belgium, in Germany and Switzerland. Rubson aspires to deploy this breakthrough to maximize its impact, by establishing new collection points in France. The Rubson brand is therefore committed to a holistic approach to waste management., with key components selected for their recyclability. The foam is also EC1+ certified, guaranteeing very low emissions during use. This commitment is also manifested in the composition of the packaging.. Indeed, the metal container of the aerosol and its cap contribute to offering packaging containing at least 28% recycled materials, in line with the Henkel group’s commitments.
A product with optimized performance
Energy foam offers expansion of up to 31 liters. Thanks to this capacity for expansion, this product stalls, insulates or fills all types of cavities. The foam is dry and breakable after 50 minutes, which constitutes one of its major assets and a significant time saving on construction sites, thus improving the efficiency and overall productivity of the work. As a thermal and acoustic insulator, Expanding Energy Foam also improves the energy efficiency of structures. By reducing air infiltration, it helps prevent the formation of mold. To optimize product performance and develop comfort of use, the aerosol itself has been redesigned to ensure better control at the time of application. The pressure inside has been reduced by 20% to allow the foam to flow more slowly for better control of the quantity and to avoid waste of material.
