On the occasion of the Conference of Presidents of RUP, ELISA FERREIRA, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, confirmed to Huguette Bello the adoption by the Commission of the European ERDF and ESF+ program for the period 2021-2027 in Reunion. This is the first DOM program to be adopted and the most important of all regions of France.. It amounts to 1,2 billion under the ERDF of which the Réunion region is a managing authority, and 173 million under the ESF. To this envelope must be added an additional cost allocation of 194 million under the ERDF and 23 million under the ESF+. Total 1,4 billion euros which are allocated to Reunion for the period 2021-2027. The program is structured, regarding the ERDF, around the priorities of innovation and research, maintaining a sustained effort in favor of businesses in priority sectors (tourism, production and agri-food, digital, circular economy…), natural wealth and decarbonization, biodiversity, sustainable urban mobility, health and education infrastructure, integrated urban and rural territory projects. And employability and integration of young people in difficulty, under the ESF+.
