EDF launches an experiment in Reunion to adapt the off-peak hours system to local solar energy production.
Until now reserved for the night, off-peak hours can now be offered during the day, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., when photovoltaic production is highest. The experiment, which will begin in October 2025 for a period of three months, aims to validate the technical feasibility, measure the impact on consumption habits and assess customer interest. EDF launched at the end of August, by electronic messages, the recruitment of voluntary customers among eligible individual subscribers (those who have already subscribed to the peak hours off-peak pricing option).
