Loans and acquisitions of the Territorial Bank reached 349 million euros in 2024 in the Indian Ocean (Réunion and Mayotte), compared to 335 million the previous year.
The Caisse des Dépôts bank, dedicated to local development, is a major financier of social landlords. 265 million euros were allocated to them last year in the two French departments of the Indian Ocean. At SHLMR, which is nevertheless controlled by Action Logement, alone benefited from nearly 90 million euros in financing, just like Al’Ma’s projects, depending on the same group, were supported to the tune of 30 million. The island subsidiaries of CDC Habitat (CIDER, Semac, Semader and Sodiac in Reunion, Sim in Mayotte) were financed in total to the tune of around a hundred million euros. In Mayotte, the Banque des Territoires lent 33 million euros to the public land establishment. In the meeting, the intermunicipalities borrowed 40 million euros from it to finance the construction of drinking water treatment units, upgrades to wastewater treatment plant standards, strengthening the banks… In the field of waste, the Caisse des Dépôts bank is an important supporter of the Run’Eva multi-sector hub project, in the Pierrefonds area, and initiated additional financing of 25 million euros. Finally, it develops a lesser known activity of financing notary offices, faced with the real estate market crisis, which deprives them of an important source of income : 8 million euros in loans were granted to them in 2024.
