The grand prize for the collective approach of the 2023-2024 Agroecology Trophies was awarded at the beginning of January 2024 to the GIEE (economic and environmental interest group) UHPR “Integrated Biological Protection” (Union of horticulturists and nurserymen of Reunion Island).
The economic and environmental interest group is a system officially recognized by the State to encourage agroecology in France. That of the UHPR is specifically dedicated to Integrated Biobiological Protection (PBI) within Reunion horticultural farms. It notably promotes the use of beneficial auxiliary insects to naturally combat pests.. The individual approach prize was awarded to Marion Meyer, a young farmer from Cilaos, a pioneer in permaculture.
