The turnover of small businesses still falling

The Image PME survey carried out by the Sagis firm for the Order of Chartered Accountants of Reunion Island shows an overall drop of 0,3% of turnover (CA) of VSEs and SMEs on the island in the 4th quarter of 2025. Year to date, it remains less than 0,4% to that of 2024.

Small industrial companies saw their turnover remain stable compared to the same quarter of 2024 but drop by 2,8% year-to-date. In the manufacturing industry, overall turnover increased over the quarter (+ 0,9 %) but decreased by 2,2% over one year. In construction, the decrease was limited to 0,1% over the quarter but reached 3,6% cumulative yearly. In transportation and warehousing, an increase of 2,1% was recorded in the 4th quarter, but a drop of 1,6% over one year. In services, the 4th quarter was marked by stable turnover, the annual cumulative showing an increase of 1,1 %. A slight recovery is also confirmed in commerce, with an increase in overall turnover of 0,1% over the quarter and 0,6% over the whole of 2025. Data from 3,806 companies in industrial sectors, of commerce and services generating less than 50 million euros in turnover were studied by the Sagis firm to arrive at these results, which are not adjusted for inflation.
