Companies fully engaged in the fight against waste, but whose practices are still perfectible : This is what Comerso reveals, Antigaspi referent actor in France, In its latest study commissioned from the Dynata platform in February 2025, which draws up an inventory of food and non -food waste with companies.
This study was carried out with 258 professionals from the food and non-food sectors (GMS sectors, GSS et ia, agro-food manufacturers) working in companies of all sizes. Nine out of ten companies claim to have a decisive role in the fight against climate change and the degradation of ecosystems. More, in the current context of economic and geopolitical tensions, 42 % plan to review their commitments on major environmental issues. On the fight against waste, Professionals say they have increased their mobilization : 58 % say they have mobilized more compared to last year. Despite the good wills, Companies are aware of still having a significant margin for progression : They are 83 % to declare it. Remember that in France 4,3 million tonnes of foodstuffs were thrown in 2021 (source Eurostat).
RSE : The perception of its economic impact remains unclear
The link between CSR and economic performance is not yet very clear for companies. However 39 % of professionals in the GMS sectors, GSS and IAA interviewed say they are completely convinced that CSR is an economic optimization lever. "The awareness that antigaspi constitutes a real lever for economic performance is essential : It is on this condition that companies will tenfold their impact ", Comment Pierre-Yves Pasquier, PDG de Comerso.
Regulations deemed effective
Professionals recognize the effectiveness of laws in force : 84 % of GMS consider the GAROT law effective to reduce food waste. Likewise, 70 % among GSS and 89 % among IAAs on the Agec law. Companies are favorable to continue to develop the regulatory framework (84 % for GMS, 83 % for GSS and 89 % for IAA). Knowledge of regulations, however, remains perfectible with average notes ranging from 10/20 to GMS, 10,9/20 and GSS et 10,7/20 I do not. The example of the antigaspillage label is also revealing since 52 % of GMS ignore its existence. The challenge is therefore to improve knowledge of the laws in force to make them more effective.
