Diagnostics, funding, labeling : around a hundred hotel establishments and restaurants relied on the Sustainable Tourism Fund to implement sustainable development actions.
The Reunion assessment of the Sustainable Tourism Fund is significant with 105 diagnostics carried out and 63 projects supported, i.e. a transformation rate of 60%. These 63 projects represent a total of 2,7 million euros of investments (in new equipment), dont 1,6 million in aid paid by Ademe, i.e. an average amount of aid of €26,000 per project. In Mayotte, eight projects were supported for a total investment amount of €491,000. Among the projects supported, 75% concerns tourist accommodation and 25% catering. Most frequently implemented actions : photovoltaic energy, air blowers, lighting management, waste management, reduction in the use of plastic bottles, composting, responsible menus, staff training, informing customers about eco-friendly actions… The Sustainable Tourism Fund mainly targeted VSE-SMEs with fewer than 20 employees.
