Produce differently with France Relance

Simplified procedure, quick response, immediate release of funds : this is the other aspect of France Relance, a small revolution in the financing of innovation... The permanent call for tender allows the launch of industrial projects which would undoubtedly not have seen the light of day otherwise, or in a much longer time frame. Projects focused on ecological transition and job creators which prove that Reunion Island, and overseas in general, have no shortage of ideas to renew themselves.

“Dare to France Relaunch ! » : this is in essence the message to hesitant entrepreneurs from Muryel and Jean-Claude Leblanc, respectively director and president of Bourbon Plastiques Emballage, with their experience of the system put in place by the government as part of the “Industry Territory” component of the Recovery plan. From its origin, Bourbon Plastiques Emballage was a pioneering company in the internal reprocessing of its production waste. Then in the eco-design of its products. The company has always had a number of projects in its pipeline. These are the two most important ones that BPE is implementing thanks to France Relance. The first project consists of changing the raw material in the manufacture of bottles. “We are leaving PVC for PET. A huge change for us. The transition to PET leads us to review the entire organization and layout of the company. We will work from preforms, which will reduce the volume of raw materials to be stored. On the other hand, PET is the most used plastic material in Reunion, with the bottles. It is the most likely, due to its volumes, to be the subject of local regeneration in the future” explain Muryel and Jean-Claude Leblanc. The second project advances the manufacturing of complex films (lamination is the assembly of two or more layers of plastic films together, particularly to produce printed packaging films). The aim is to guarantee food from any contact with the inked part. So far, he was necessary to combine several different plastic materials. This will no longer necessarily be the case thanks to the equipment in which BPE is investing : the films could be of the same material.
“The advantage is the possibility of locally manufacturing products that were previously imported, but also total recyclability, and locally, material for other uses. We will be able to develop the company by offering new products. We would not have done it without the reduction in risk made possible by the help from France Relance. » Bourbon Plastiques Emballage received 450,000 euros for its two projects for an investment of 1,1 million d’euros.

France Relaunch, “an extraordinary dynamic”

What Muryel and Jean-Claude Leblanc also testify to, like all the other project leaders selected by France Relance, this is the novelty of the financing of innovation by the State through this system. “The dynamic implemented is extraordinary, considers Jean-Claude Leblanc. We were not at all sure that our projects corresponded to the objectives of France Relance ! Everything is done to go quickly. Simplified documents, the ease of contact with the France Relance team for the slightest question. » « The sub-prefect for recovery, Gilbert Manciet, called us as soon as he arrived. Two days later, he came to visit the company. We are clearly in project management with regular monitoring points planned with the State. And frankly, that works ! » observe Muryel Leblanc.
