Noula is a locally developed carpooling mobile application that connects, in real time thanks to geolocation, drivers and pedestrians going in the same direction.
Each day, Reunion accounts for more than two million trips. Thousands of drivers drive alone and hundreds of pedestrians make their journeys on foot or by public transport. Totally adapted to local daily habits, but also to the very particular topography of our island, Noula provides a travel solution and responds to major societal and environmental issues.
You are a pedestrian ?
Finish, waits at bus stops and random public transport schedules. Noula allows you to travel instantly and without time constraints. Thanks to the geolocation system of your smartphone, you say where you are and where you are going with pinpoint precision. You can or not ride with the driver who will stop near you… Thanks to the secure and agile application, you pay the driver for the distance traveled. The price ? No more expensive than a bus ticket.
You are a driver ?
With geolocation, you indicate your destination. If a pedestrian is in your path, you can choose to open your door for him or not… You share your vehicle and you earn money. Via l’application, your passenger pays for their trip and you are credited immediately to your kitty.
The Noula community
At the end of each trip, pedestrian and driver can give their opinion. Courtesy, kindness, respect for hygiene… « Noula, it is a warm and respectful network. You interact with people you trust during a paid journey that is much cheaper than a bus ticket ! » also argues Yahia Hajji, co-founder of Noula. Added to this is the obvious ecological argument : less solo driving, less carbon footprint linked to car travel. Noula was designed and created in Reunion Island. The developer team is based in La Possession. Noula is incubated at the Village by CA in Reunion, winner of the Martinique enterprise network, supported by the BPI and by the Caisse du Crédit Agricole de La Réunion.
