Faced with climate issues, but also to the increasing costs of energy and transport, local small and medium-sized businesses find themselves on the front lines. More, far from being a constraint, this transition represents an opportunity for competitiveness and innovation.

Improved energy efficiency, heat recovery, transition to renewable energies, reduction of imports of raw materials and development of the circular economy. So many concrete avenues that make it possible to combine economic performance and positive impact. “There are simple solutions, accessible and above all profitable to initiate a low carbon approach. The ecological transition is a new way of thinking about business, serving its competitiveness and the sustainability of the territory”, Souligne Chakilah Patell, advisor in ecological transition and energy transition of the CCI Réunion. Two open access platforms are now offered by the CCI Réunion. LISE (Limit your impacts and track your emissions) : this online tool (missioncarbzero.fr) simply calculate the carbon footprint of a company, offers a tailor-made action plan and allows you to monitor the evolution of emissions over time. A first step accessible for any structure, even without internal expertise. ACTIVE (actif-cci.fr) : the circular economy platform. Its principle : transforming one company’s waste and unused resources into raw materials for others. Equipment, materials, sharing of premises or optimization of transport… ACTIF promotes cooperation between economic players and reduces costs.
