The Reunion frozen food company opened, mid-August in Saint-Pierre, the first store of its new organic and vegan frozen food brand, named Aügur in reference to the omens of antiquity which predicted the future.
Christophe Aigueperse, president of the Kryos group, which integrates the Ilôt Surgelé brand, presented this visionary project in Meeting Leader in March. Aügur is nothing less than the first frozen food brand specializing in organic products., vegan and gluten-free, not only from Reunion, but from France ! Its first store has just been inaugurated in downtown Saint-Pierre. The opening of a second point of sale is planned before the end of the year in downtown Saint-Denis. Objective of the new Aügur brand : attract customers engaged in the food transition to frozen foods, an expectation that is growing in Reunion. “The consumer, with reason, asks that the product is good for health, good for the planet, animal friendly, profitable for the producer, good for job, local, French, with know-how, real traceability. This is the offer we are offering him.”, warns Florian du Boisguéheneuc, manager of the Aügur brand.
Catering possible on site
The selected products are classified by labels and families (meats, Pisces, desserts, pains, etc.). Each department has a QR code referring to the Aügur brand website to obtain explanations of these labels. A charter summarizes the brand's commitments in favor of healthy eating and transparency of information. The originality of the place also comes from a complementary offer of dry goods in bulk and a section of spreads and drinks also certified.. But if Aügur is a new kind of store, it is, in addition to the range of labeled frozen foods, for the relationship he establishes with his customers. The store has a space where cooking workshops on products sold in store and information workshops on quality labels and signs will be held.. Two tables are provided for welcoming customers who want to taste, even reheat and cook, on site the products they have just purchased ! A small revolution in the way of understanding the trade of merchant and building customer loyalty.
Frozen pei fruits and vegetables
Aügur wishes to advance the cause of frozen pei, the supply of which remains limited to this day. “We are open to all proposals from local producers”, ad Florian du Boisguéheneuc. So, it is at Aügur that the first Reunion range of frozen fruits and vegetables will be distributed, new initiative from the association of farmer producers of the Great South, to whom we already owe a steak tip. Also dry, the doors are wide open to local producers, using the example of bulk sales of teas. A reduced selection of organic and vegan frozen products is also offered in Ilôt Surgelé stores in Sainte-Marie., La Possession and Saint-Joseph.
