A charter was signed on February 16 in the prefecture between Production Locale Réunie and major retail players with the aim of “promoting dialogue” between the two parties and developing the share of local production in the offerings of large food surfaces on the island. According to the prefecture, it meets a dual objective : “optimize the local offering through a better response to market expectations, an upscaling of products, a constant improvement of industrial and logistical performance for better traceability of products and security of the local offer on the production side” and “enhancing the local offer through a more favorable referencing policy as well as reinforced exposure and visibility on the distribution side”. The creation of a working group and a steering committee is announced to “meet these challenges”, in “consultation”.
