The installation of the Reunionese Tourism Committee (CRT) was held on April 29, Under the chairmanship of Huguette Bello.
Created in the form of a public industrial and commercial establishment, it results from the recent merger of Reunion Island tourism (IRT) and the Réunion Tourism Federation (FRT). The IRT's mission was to support tourism professionals and promote the destination., the FRT was in charge of running intercommunal tourist offices and the dynamism of local tourism. The two structures officially merged on March 30. At the end of the installation session, Patrick Lebreton, who has chaired the IRT since 2021, was appointed president of the Réunion Tourism Committee. The members of the board of directors elected five vice-presidents alongside him.(e)s : Sophie Arzal (Department), Amandine Ramaye, (Region), Jean-Bernard Maratchia (Region), Claire Tabakian (airline representative) and Patrick Serveaux (UMIH). The Réunion Region had decided to create a single structure dedicated to tourism following an audit mission carried out by a consulting firm which recommended “a strong evolution of the local tourism ecosystem”. The Reunion Tourism Committee becomes the single point of contact in charge of bringing together all the stakeholders (Region, Department, intermunicipalities, tourist offices, communities and socio-professional actors).
