The “Ocean Space”, vacant land of three hectares between rue Maréchal-Leclerc and boulevard Lancastel in Saint-Denis, will be transformed into an urban park. On August 19, the municipality unveiled the development project selected following a citizen consultation.. Its dominant will be playful, primarily aimed at children. It will bring together play areas, rides and a captive hot air balloon, climbing walls, tree houses… Forgotten, the shopping center and housing initially planned on the site by Sodiac. The “adventure forest”, name of the project proposed for citizen vote, will be the second largest public park in the capital, after the “family green heart” which extends from Trinité to Champ-Fleuri. It was preferred to other options, more focused on botany or collective gardening. Preparatory work and first plantings are announced for 2023. Two years of development work will then be necessary, before delivery expected at the end of 2025.
