The Human Resources Department of the Reunion brand has designed and implements an original approach to the reception, information and integration of work -study students, and more broadly newcomers in the company. The second edition of the Job Dating of E.Leclerc Réunion for young people, June 4 at the Kab’Art space in the Portail shopping center, gave a new example.
Young people are invited to ask any questions they wish
In 2024, E.Leclerc Réunion supported 80 students on apprenticeship contracts. Determined to continue on this path, In June, the brand organized a second edition of its job dating for work-study students and interns., also opening it this year to student jobs. With 300 registered for around forty positions to be filled, the company has shown that it still attracts as much and that its innovative job dating formula is appreciated. It is in fact based on a principle of exchanges and not traditional interviews., often intimidating. Freedom is given to candidates, new to the business world, to ask all the questions they want about the job, the sign, the work environment, etc. Employees provide their testimonies. Behind-the-scenes tours of the brand are even offered to discover, especially, food professions, professions most in tension for which the brand strives to generate vocations. “We promote a climate conducive to dialogue to answer all their questions through this concrete approach”, explains Laurence Viracaoundin, director of human resources at E.Leclerc Réunion. The brand is also attentive to its employer brand. Job dating demonstrated its commitments in the region and the actions of Team E.Leclerc Réunion. Precursor of several notable initiatives in terms of corporate social responsibility (RSE) (inclusive jobs, valorization of local production, initiatives against food waste, recovery of plastic bottles, etc.), the brand has set up a Team E.Leclerc Réunion, employees(e)s invested in sport and CSR initiatives. Opcommerce was also present on job dating to promote trade professions. On other key recruitment meetings, like the Great Meeting at the start of the year, the brand relies on its employment partners and its gallery boutiques to increase professional opportunities. All these events have the feel of mini-job fairs !
Great success stories
The relaxation area promoting contact and dialogue
E.Leclerc Réunion implements a work-study program, which goes beyond the tutoring provided for by work-study schemes. It is support for integration into the company which highlights the variety of professions in mass distribution (sale, support functions, logistics, computer science, etc.). Around a hundred professions in total, some of which are accessible without a diploma while offering opportunities for internal development, what few sectors of activity are able to offer these days. Integration day, which brings together all the work-study students, is an opportunity to highlight this message. “We have great success stories to tell, of employees who entered as work-study students who build a career with us up to positions of responsibility”, declares Laurence Viracaoundin. Educational establishments, CCI Meeting, chamber of trades and crafts, local missions, Second Chance School, RSMA… : all those involved in education and work-study programs maintain links with E.Leclerc Réunion, second private employer on the island. Welcoming young work-study students is only one aspect of this human resources approach., considerate while remaining pragmatic, which extends to all newcomers. “We innovate in HR as in our other societal commitments. This is part of our responsibility towards the territory”, summarizes Laurence Viracaoundin.
