Who keeps their receipt in 2022 ?

The receipt, this piece of paper that fills our wallets, that we throw away in seconds, or that we keep preciously, will disappear by 2023. la start-up Yavin, which reinvents uses around payments, offers the possibility of scanning the receipt.

Throw away the receipt ? A common action that causes enormous pollution : 18 billion liters of water wasted, 25 million trees cut down, 22 million barrels of oil consumed. for example, just in France, 12,5 billion tickets would be printed each year, representing 150,000 tonnes of CO2. In the current climate emergency context, this is a real problem. In 2023, the receipt will no longer have to be automatically printed in paper format. The e-ticket or digital receipt will then replace the paper version and become the standard. Advantages ? More ecology : less paper consumed, less energy consumption. More practical : no more tickets flying and getting lost. This is the possibility of being able to store it electronically while keeping its value as proof of purchase when you need it most., in case of exchange or refund. Easier in terms of management and archiving : you can store and classify tickets in the cloud or on your computer.

Improve customer knowledge in physical stores
We know that customers do not always wish to communicate personal data to receive promotions from the brand.. On the other hand, she is more open to receiving digital receipts. It is therefore a way to communicate with customers more easily and access new information. The e-receipt corresponds to consumer consumption expectations, but it also allows traders to save money. With the solution proposed by Yavin, the merchant can, to the acceptance of its customers, offer them essential information related to the life of the business and thus build loyalty and perpetuate their activity.

SYSTEM U AND CARREFOURONT PRECEDED THE LAW
A change imposed by the anti-waste law Article 49 of the law adopted in January 2020 provides for the ban no later than January 1, 2023, unless otherwise requested by the customer, to print and distribute receipts in businesses and establishments open to the public. The new obligation also concerns bank card receipts, tickets distributed by machines (ATMs), promotional vouchers for an item. To have these tickets in paper version, you will have to ask for them. Système U and Carrefour were the first brands to put an end to the automatic delivery of receipts and bank card receipts in their stores in 2021, as well as offering on request the sending of e-tickets to customers with a loyalty card.
