Masks to 20 years. How was the company born and who founded it ?
Mascadis was founded by Jean-Luc Billaud and I, July 2, 2002. Originally, We were colleagues and worked for the same company and we had the ambition to stand on our own two features by creating our own structure and making our customer partners benefit from our commercial dynamics and our business expertise.

You have two world famous cards today, Two heavyweights on the battery market, What are the Varta and Duracell brands ; Are they at the origin of the Mascadis project ?
We started our activity with the Rayovac brand, hearing batteries manufacturer. We then had the opportunity to develop and energize the Varta card, which offered a much more complete assortment with competitive prices. The Duracell brand has added to our general catalog a few years later with the aim of offering our customer partners and end consumers a rich and varied assortment.

Mascadis today offers increasing varied products: electricity, lighting, Home maintenance, The little DIY, Ephemeral dishes, Insecticide products, Fire products, ... how to define its scope of activity ?
Mascadis is above all dispenser of non -food products. Our core business lies mainly in the marketing of batteries and bulbs. We then conducted several market studies that proved to be constructive and promising and thanks to the confidence of our customer partners, We were able to expand our areas of skills. We are proud today to be able to exploit other renowned brands, to share our business knowledge with our customers and of course to respond favorably to the needs of end consumers.

You see in this twentieth year as a threshold reached by the company ?
Certainly. This was possible thanks to the confidence and loyalty of our customer partners but also thanks to the work, seriously and involved in our teams. Besides, I also take this opportunity to warmly thank and congratulate Jean-Luc Billaud for all those years when he worked to develop Mascads, for helping me to provide training for our teams and have marked, by his benevolence, All of our customers. A big thank you all for this new CAP cross. We want a very nice retirement to Jean-Luc Billaud !
Where is Muscadis today in terms of growth, workforce, means ?
Our CA has been constantly evolving since our start -up in 2002. We started originally with a single card, We hold 12 today. We were two people (Jean-Luc Billaud and I) in 2002, Our team has 14 employees today. Besides, We had to move three times in larger premises and offices !

MASCALLIZ for bulbs : It is rare that wholesale importers create their own brand. Make yourself made these products for your account ?
Yes.
Why this choice
The price/product offer of national brands on this market no longer met the needs of local consumers. The local market is indeed very atypical compared to the metropolis, and our supplies did not completely coincide the demand and the needs of the Reunionese. The creation of Mascalight has allowed us to respond more precisely to the needs of consumers. We have relied on our market knowledge to create and develop the brand which now has more than thirty references. Beyond, The Mascalight brand gives us a real commercial identity, It is appreciated by consumers and recognized as a guarantee brand of quality.

Mascadis gives the impression of cultivating a certain spirit of innovation by looking for practical products that are out of the ordinary, Like the filament LED bulbs or sugar cane fiber dishes. Is this a special way to consider the profession of wholesale importer who is expressed through these products ?
Absolutely, This is quite that. The market on which we work is constantly evolving.
How is the future of Mascadis., Will new brands join your portfolio ?
Given the current economic situation, Our first goal is, above all, to strengthen and consolidate existing Marques partnerships. However, We obviously have the ambition to expand our card portfolio to continue to diversify on our market and offer innovative products at competitive prices. The future of Mascadis, Now is based on the young team in place, which for several years now, is responsible for the administrative part, commercial and logistics of the company. Young dynamics, determined, who grew up with Mascadis and who, thanks to their investments in work, have made the company grow to become what it is today. Many thanks to them !

Mascadis in a few key dates
2002 : First Rayovac card then Varta.
2003 : Moving to the SEMir of the port and acquisition of the OSRAM card (ampoules, lamps).
2004 et 2005 : Acquisition of the FLAM UP card (fire products) and the Gappy card (ephemeral dishes).
2006 : move to the ZAC Balthazar to possession as a tenant.
2011 : Elected best used bulb collection point on the island by ESR (formerly recylum).
2013 : launch of the clean mascalight brand (ampoules).
2015 : new move to the ZAC Balthazar as a owner.
2017 : Acquisition of La Carte Vulcano (insecticides), Supertite (Chains) and launch of the Péi-Poubelle bags range (local production).
2018 : Acquisition of the Duracell card and the Mesa Bella card (ephemeral dishes).
2019 : clean brand launch
Masca-eco'r (ephemeral dishes).
2020 : retirement of the co -manager m. Jean-Luc Billaud.
2021 : Acquisition of the Dofin card (small hardware store, electricity).
2022 : Acquisition of the Gomagon card (gangs), IGT (gas accessories) and redemption of the company Distri Box.
