Roland-Garros airport welcomed 1,842,428 passengers during the first eight months of the year, an increase of 5,5% compared to 2024.
Traffic increased every month from February, with a growth peak in June (+10,3 %). The milestone of one million passengers has been reached on the Réunion-Hexagon axis (+5,5 %), while regional lines show growth of 4,1 %. The Réunion-Mauritius connection remains the busiest with more than 436,000 passengers (+3,1 %), and the Réunion-Mayotte link records the strongest growth (+12,7 %). The line to Madagascar remains stable (+0,9 %), while traffic to Johannesburg declines slightly (-1 %). The Réunion-Bangkok line shows continued sustained growth of 29,8 %, with nearly 59,000 passengers over eight months. Exceptional traffic was recorded during the months of July and August, with 586,046 passengers welcomed, an increase of 7,4% compared to the same period in 2024, a record for the southern winter season. The month of July was particularly intense, with nearly 300,000 travelers, up 9,6% compared to July 2024, a period then impacted by the Paris Olympic Games. The freight terminal, for its part, handled 20,505 tonnes of goods between January and August., i.e. a slight increase of 0,3 %. The majority of flows concern the Réunion-metropolis axis (14,471 tonnes), followed by Réunion-Mauritius (3,031 tonnes), Reunion-Bangkok (1,409 tonnes) and Réunion-Mayotte (774 tonnes).Imports increase by 3,8 %, driven in particular by the arrival of materials intended for repairing power lines damaged by cyclone Garance. On the other hand, exports fall by 10,2 %, mainly due to the decline in fruit shipments, with a notable 30% drop in pineapple exports.
