The Real Estate Club brings together nearly 50 local players in construction and urban development. It is in partnership with the Reunion training institute (IFR) that a PIM BTS (real estate professions) in work-study program settles at the Port. The first promotion, in progress since July, is made up of around twenty students.
This new course has the particularity of wanting to specialize students through increased exchanges with the professional world., and more particularly with the partner companies of the Real Estate Club. A guarantee for future students to be supported by professionals during their course and to be offered recruitment opportunities upon graduation. In the meeting, the weight of the industrial chain of construction and city animation (real estate, BTP) represents around 20% of GDP. “There is a high unemployment rate in Reunion, and we still have difficulty recruiting. We are committed to the territory and we want to transmit, hence the idea of setting up a sector of excellence and, Above all, to inspire the desire to learn in students”, explains Vincent Le Baliner, honorary president of the Real Estate Club, in charge of setting up the BTS. Students will be prepared for careers in real estate transactions, rental management, co-ownership management, but also to the trades of setting up operations, development and social housing. They will assimilate in-depth knowledge about the economy and the real estate market. Admissions take place post-baccalaureate on file and after interview with the professionals involved in the training.
Training anchored in its territory
Each student will join one of the member companies of the Real Estate Club on a work-study basis., or a partner company, for the duration of his training. He will benefit from the support of a designated sponsor within the association. (other than its host company). To anchor the training in the realities of the Reunion real estate market, master classes led by professional members of the club will be added to the common core of the BTS as defined by the State. Grouped together as a team, students will have to work on concrete case studies. For this life-size “Business Game”, they will have to seek out the necessary resources and involve all trades in order to present a fictitious real estate project at the end of their training. “This work will allow them to reflect on both urban planning and, real estate and housing issues. Young people have high expectations for solutions to climate-related problems and the design of public spaces, and we intend to involve them in the search for solutions for the sustainable development of Reunion Island.”, underlines Vincent Le Baliner.
