One year after its launch by the Réunion Region, in partnership with the State, Cyber Réunion draws up an initial assessment.

Reunion companies remain very exposed to cyberattacks, but the regional system is already showing tangible results on the ground. Carried by Réunion THD, Cyber Réunion manages two systems. The European Digital Innovation Hub supports VSEs and SMEs and communities to measure their digital and cyber maturity, prioritize actions and mobilize funding in order to train and deploy concrete protections. The program is co-financed to the tune of 2,5 million euros by the European Union and the Réunion Region. Le Computer Security Incident Response Team (CHIRT) is a cyber incident response center in the territory. It assists local organizations and coordinates the technical and organizational response, from diagnosis to recovery. The system is co-financed by Anssi and the Réunion Region to the tune of 1,8 million euros over three years. In twelve months, the CSIRT recorded 60 calls and handled 34 confirmed incidents. Nearly 70 risk and vulnerability report notifications and 130 vulnerability alerts have also been distributed to prevent potential attacks. On their side, 26 communities have access to a continuous digital security assessment tool. The EDIH, for its part, enabled the completion of 91 digital maturity assessments and 61 diagnostics.. A cyberattack costs a small business an average of 15,000 euros, and more than 230,000 euros in the most serious cases, recalls Cyber Réunion.
