The Court of Auditors published a report on the General Social Security Fund of Reunion Island at the end of September, the first since an inspection carried out in 2002.

The Court establishes in particular several findings. It firstly emphasizes that the quality of the service provided varies depending on the branch., with notable difficulties in the old age branch and a slowdown in improvements in the illness branch. She then notes that the recovery of social security contributions takes too long., leading to an increase in bad debts, contentious or prescribed since 2019 (+13 %). The governance of the CGSS also presents inadequacies, particularly with regard to incomplete declarations of links of interest and payment of contributions by directors. Finally, the administrative management of the organization is marked by an incomplete formalization of the purchasing process, requiring changes to practices.
